Joe Alascano
Operations

Joe Alascano manages shipping, preparation, and installation at Los Angeles Modern Auctions. Mr. Alascano’s role at LAMA is a culmination of both his professional experience and personal interests. Prior to joining LAMA, Mr. Alascano directed van line logistics and operations for nine years, supervising nearly forty employees in delivery throughout the contiguous United States. Later, with a different organization, he also managed international shipping and receiving. In his position at LAMA, which he has held since 2012, Mr. Alascano appreciates the diversity of the materials and tasks which he encounters and welcomes the ever-evolving challenge of conceiving strategies to handle them. As an artist himself, Mr. Alascano is inspired by the works that surrounded him every day. Within LAMA’s expansive repertoire, he routinely identities the same artistic techniques and structures that he often engages in his own public art practice. Mr. Alascano says that this exposure encourages him as it is a constant reminder that there is still room for artists to grow and flourish, especially in Los Angeles.
